But you might not expect the person on stage to try and pick somebody up from the audience.
Well, that’s exactly what attendees at Kell Fire’s gig got.
The American comedienne worded her request for company in an open-ended way, seemingly to save face if she didn’t get any takers.
Fire was wrapping up her gig at an intimate venue when she threw out the call to her viewers.
Maintaining a deadpan expression on her face, the funny woman said: “Does anyone just like want to go home with me tonight? I’m serious.”
Most people seemed too stunned to respond, but a ‘woo’ went up from the crowd. Standard audience behaviour so far.
But one man took things a step further by asking: “Are you serious?”
In a seductive tone of voice, Fire responded: “Yeah. Do you want to come home with me tonight? Come on!”
The audience started getting revved up and began applauding as the audience member shouted: “Let’s go!”
Looking pretty pleased with herself, Fire linked arms with the keen spectator and could be heard saying: “I’m going to go and make myself feel better.”
That’s one way to do it.
Social media users couldn’t resist commenting on the unusual event and flooded the post with comments after a clip of the interaction was shared to Instagram.
One person said: “Why doesn’t this happen when I got to comedy shows?”, as another wrote: “I support this. We’d all be happier if this happened more often.”
And a third joked: “Is that included in the normal ticket price?”

It appears that Fire planned the seemingly impromptu event ahead of time.
In the video’s caption, she wrote: “Thank god he was a professional, it could have turned out very differently.”
Given that she also dabbles in OnlyFans, this comment could imply the man in the audience was a fellow content creator.
It could also just mean he was really good in the bedroom, who’s to say?
But with adult film star Tony Fontana tagged in the clip, that seems to confirm the post’s hidden meaning.
Over on X, Fire confirmed that the whole thing was a publicity stunt.
She wrote: “VID SOLD! Ended my set asking the audience if someone would come home with me. They came to my car and then on my face.”

Once you hit the big time, it’s pretty much par for the course that you’re gonna get recognised by people.
I mean, some actors can’t step one foot outside their homes without being chased by paps or hounded by autograph hunters.
But while that’s kind of expected, usually celebs aren’t in the middle of their day job when they get spotted.
Well, that’s exactly what happened to Kacey Clarke when she was working a shift as a teacher. You may remember her for playing Neil’s sister in The Inbetweeners.
Despite starring in one of the biggest sitcoms of all time, the 35-year-old was also working as a supply teacher.
And while covering for one class, Clarke said she was recognised by a few of her students.
“Even though I was only in a couple of episodes my character became iconic because the show is iconic so people always remember it,” she said back in 2016.
“The funniest experience was about four years ago when I was a substitute teacher covering for my mum’s partner.

“Everything was normal until one of the boys put his arm up and said ‘are you Neil’s sister’, which was pretty funny.
“Then, of course, the whole class knew so they kept going on about it. So a lot of people do remember me from the show.”
Another star plenty of lads will remember from the series is Will McKenzie’s mum, who was lusted after by many a teenager back in the day.
She was dubbed ‘TV‘s fittest mum’ as her character Polly left such a lasting impression on viewers of the beloved sitcom.
But Belinda isn’t that appreciative of how some people go about trying to get her attention – especially in the form of unsolicited d**k pics.
The IT Crowd star had a few choice words for one bloke who slid into her DMs with a message accompanied by a ‘horrifying’ image.

During an appearance on the Secret Artists with Annie McGrath podcast, she explained that although she appreciates the undying adoration, she isn’t a fan of some ‘very rude’ approaches people take to getting her attention.
Belinda said ‘of course’ it was nice to be branded TV’s fittest parent, but warding off weirdos sadly comes with the territory.
When asked how she navigates people still sliding in her DMs, the 52-year-old said: “Well, it’s funny you should say that, actually. Because not long ago I had an absolutely horrifying one and I’d never had anything like that before.
“I was, well it took me back, lets say that, and it wasn’t pleasant. So whoever you are out there, you know who you are – slap on the wrist, don’t do that again – it’s very rude.”

Bhad Bhabie has racked up a s**t-tonne of money on OnlyFans after earning an eye-watering £800,000 on her first day in 2021.
The social media personality, whose real name is Danielle Bregoli, is largely known for her 2016 guest appearance on Dr. Phil.
It’s when the then 16-year-old became a viral sensation with just six words: “Cash me outside, how ’bout that?”
The phrase was repeated all across the internet and pretty much took on a life of its own.
People might also remember a rap song of the same name by Bregoli herself, in her short-lived music career that followed.
But as with other celebrities, the 21-year-old has used her fame to transition into adult subscription service OnlyFans, where users pay a monthly fee to view explicit content.
Just six days after her 18th birthday in April 2021, after much build-up, she launched her account, making an astounding amount of dosh on her first day alone.
She later revealed exactly how much she made throughout 2021 on the site.

Bregoli took to Instagram to reveal the eye-watering amount she made through OnlyFans subscriptions.
Through screenshots which appeared to show her earnings from 2021, it appears she made $18 million (£14 million) in her first month, following an amount of over $1 million (£790,000) on her first day.
The 20-year-old also made a total of $6.8 million (£5.3 million) in May 2021, with each monthly income steadily declining. Still, it’s a shed load of money either way.
This amounted to a staggering total of $38.6 million (£30 million) from April to November alone.
A monthly subscription to her account sets users back $23.99 (£19), highlighting just how many people went over to subscribe to her NSFW content.
Bregoli was a guest on Emily Ratajkowski’s High Low podcast in 2023, revealing that her OnlyFans earnings saved her from being broke.

I mean, just wow (Instagram/@bhadbhabie)
She explained: “I wasn’t really thinking much of it at the time, but I was actually broke as f**k before I started OnlyFans.
“My mom was in control of my money, so she was doing whatever she wanted to do, and I had a $500 limit on my card.”
Talking about the money she earned, she said: “It just kept coming and coming, I was just like, ‘sh*t’.”
Bhad Bhabie also spoke to Rolling Stone, saying that she has more control over her time and her life following her success thus far.
“I’m not gonna give nobody a set time on things,” she said.
“I might wake up one day and go into the studio and make a whole album. I might not do that for the next 10 years. I go about things how I feel.… That’s why I stay to myself so much. I’m trying to learn myself.”

I’m A Celeb‘s Tulisa has opened up about the time she was ‘held up’ at an airport after officials found a sex toy in her hand luggage.
Not what you want really.
The N-Dubz singer, 36, who has admitted to being celibate for the last three years, has explained what happened during a hilariously awkward incident at a US airport.
In her 2012 memoir, Honest: My Story So Far, Tulisa said she was once stopped at Miami airport when ‘check-in staff noticed that something weird was going on with my luggage’.
When the check-in staff picked up her suitcase, the pop star said it was very obviously vibrating.
The I’m A Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here! contestant was then left ‘red faced’ after what happened next.
Though she knew what was going on straight away, writing: “I felt the quivering case and I knew what it was straight away.
“It was a sex toy. My sex toy!”

Along with her personal assistant Gareth Varey, the pair burst out laughing, as Tulisa recalled: “Gareth clocked it straight away too, and we both burst into fits of laughter: we were cracking up.
“I had to open the bloody case and take the batteries out of the damn thing because I couldn’t get it to stop buzzing.”
She regrets being a ‘bit embarrassed’ by the incident, admitting: “At the time I was a bit embarrassed about it so I said it belonged to a friend, but actually, yes, Tulisa has got a sex toy, and so have millions of other women.

“As I’ve said, I’m not into casual sex anymore, so when I’m not in a relationship, it comes in very handy, thank you!”
This comes after the hip hop singer told her I’m A Celeb campmates last week that she was demisexual.
She said: “I’m proper guarded. I feel like I’m demisexual, I need to have a really close emotional bond with someone…I need actual depth. I’m a slow, slow burner. I’ve been celibate for over three years.”
As Tulisa mentioned, demisexualilty is when you’re only sexually attracted to someone once you’ve developed an emotional attachment with them.
The idea of experiencing primary sexual attraction isn’t really there for demisexuals.

Actress and influencer Clara Brasil has said she ‘does not care about other people’s opinions’ after receiving continued criticism for dating a man who is 50 years her senior.
The 30-year-old reportedly started dating Marco Polo Del Nero, a former Brazilian football president, in November last year.
Del Nero, who is set to turn 81 next month, boasts an impressive career, starting off as a lawyer before becoming president of the Brazilian Football Confederation and a member of the FIFA Executive Committee.
However, he was handed a lifetime ban by FIFA in 2018 for taking bribes.

Brasil recently took to Instagram to address the criticism to her 344,000 followers during a Q&A session, in which she revealed she is unbothered by the negativity surrounding her relationship with the 80-year-old.
A female follower asked for her advice about being in a relationship with an older man, and Brasil replied: “I have received and continue to receive a lot of criticism, but I don’t know if I’m so busy with other things that I just don’t care about other people’s opinions.
She added: “I’m super happy, I’m super respected, super loved and I feel very happy. I don’t care.”
Brasil has appeared in a number of TV shows, such as comedy Zorra Total, which was actually considered to be one of the worst programmes on Brazilian TV when it was released.
She also launched a career as a Brazilian funk singer.
Another Instagram model has lifted the lid on the tonnes of creepy DMs she receives – and her brilliant responses.

Paige Woolen has amassed 301,000 followers on her main account, where she shares typical modely style photos in swimsuits and the like.
And she has accumulated a further 72,500 followers on her ‘dudes in the dm’ account, where – as you can probably guess – she offers us a glimpse into the sort of sordid messages she receives on the daily.
Explaining the inspiration behind the ‘dudes in the dm’ account on Lisa Ann’s Dudes Do Better, Paige said: “I post sexy photos on Instagram in my bikini, etc, etc, and over the past couple of years I would always screenshot whenever someone would say something mean to me and I would respond back like making fun of them, or making fun of myself.
“And I was looking through all these screenshots and I thought, ‘These may benefit people, this might make someone laugh or make these girls feel less alone that constantly get bullied online.'”
