Elon Musk speaks out after person dies and several injured following Cybertruck explosion at Trump Towers

Elon Musk has spoken out after one person died following a Cybertruck exploding at Trump Towers.

The explosion happened yesterday in Las Vegas, with several people suffering injuries in addition to the one death.

Video footage has been captured showing the vehicle exploding which was filled with fireworks and fuel.

President Joe Biden made an evening address, saying that the White House was keeping an eye on the incident and law enforcement were looking into ‘whether there’s any possible connection with the attack in New Orleans’.

The explosion occurred just hours after a man drove a truck into a crowd in New Orleans with an Islamic State flag.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has spoken out following the explosion on X.

Musk wrote: “The whole Tesla senior team is investigating this matter right now. Will post more information as soon as we learn anything. We’ve never seen anything like this.

“Both this Cybertruck and the F-150 suicide bomb in New Orleans were rented from Turo. Perhaps they are linked in some way.”

While law enforcement are investigating the possibility the two attacks are linked, this has yet to be confirmed at the time of writing.

The Fire Department Deputy Chief of Clark County, where the explosion took place released a statement said that, as first responders attended the fire, they also ‘realised at the same time that there were multiple persons with injuries located around the vehicle’.

Thomas Touchstone said: “There were multiple person with injuries located around the vehicle. There were 7 [people] with minor injuries, two of which were transported to UMC (University Medical Center).

“There is one fatality within the Cybertruck.”

In addition to the death, seven people were injured, though all seven sustained only minor injuries.

The attack is politically relevant due to the new connection between Elon Musk and the President-elect Donald Trump.

The richest man in the world has continued to tweet about the incident after breaking his silence, hinting he may sue news outlets framing the explosion around Tesla.

As pointed out by Musk, both vehicles were rented from Turo, a car rental company.

Turo released a statement saying: “We are heartbroken by the violence perpetrated in New Orleans and Las Vegas, and our prayers are with the victims and families.”

Police have said there is no further threat to the Las Vegas community.

It’s the sort of response you’d expect from Donald Trump

Donald Trump has responded to Joe Biden’s announcement that he will be stepping down from the 2024 election and will not seek a second term as US president.

In a message posted on Twitter, Biden wrote: “My Fellow Americans, over the past three and a half years, we have made great progress as a Nation.

“Today, America has the strongest economy in the world. We’ve made historic investments in rebuilding our Nation, in lowering prescription drug costs for seniors, and in expanding affordable health care to a record number of Americans.

“We’ve provided critically needed care to a million veterans exposed to toxic substances. Passed the first gun safety law in 30 years.

“Appointed the first African American woman to the Supreme Court. And passed the most significant climate legislation in the history of the world. America has never been better positioned to lead than we are today.

“I know none of this could have been done without you, the American people.

“Together, we overcame a once in a century pandemic and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. We’ve protected and preserved our Democracy. And we’ve revitalized and strengthened our alliances around the world.

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.

“I will speak to the National later this week in more detail about my decision. For now, let me express my deepest gratitude to all those who have worked so hard to see me reelected.

“I want to thank Vice President Kamala Harris for being an extraordinary partner in all this work. And let me express my heartfelt appreciation to the American people for the faith and trust you have placed in me.

“I believe today what I always have: that there is nothing America can’t do – when we do it together. We just have to remember we are the United States of America”

Biden later endorsed his vice president Kamala Harris to take his spot as the Democratic nominee, saying he would give his ‘full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year’.

The president’s age had been a factor in criticism of him, with the 81-year-old performing poorly in a recent debate against Trump.

Donald Trump, the Republican nominee who lost the 2020 election to Biden, responded to the news on his own social media platform Truth Social.

Trump wrote: “Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve – And never was! He only attained the position of President by lies, Fake News, and not leaving his Basement.

“All those around him, including his Doctor and the Media, knew that he wasn’t capable of being President, and he wasn’t – And now, look what he’s done to our Country, with millions of people coming across our Border, totally unchecked and unvetted, many from prisons, mental institutions, and record numbers of terrorists.

“We will suffer greatly because of his presidency, but we will remedy the damage he has done very quickly. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Joe Biden had won the overwhelming support of his party to seek a second term as president, and the Democrats will now have to choose someone else as their nominee for the November election.

This is the latest a US party’s presumptive nominee has ever stepped out of the race.

As the Democrats try to figure out who they would put in the White House should they win the 2024 election, the Republicans will have to recalibrate based on who they end up facing.

Elon Musk has one question he asks at every interview to catch out liars

Elon Musk has one question he asks at every interview to catch out liars

Elon Musk’s one crucial interview question is not what you think.

The Tesla and X boss isn’t interested in how well you did at uni, or how many year’s experience you have in your field.

What he is interested in is catching out the bulls**ters. The kind of people who can speak five languages, or acted like they were once the CEO of their father’s business when they were 16.

In an interview with Auto Bild in 2014, Musk was asked about what skills he looks for in an employee.

Typically, he focuses on asking one/three mini questions.

While the interviewee opens up about the ‘story of their career,’ Musk said: “I really just ask ‘What are some of the tougher problems [you’ve] dealt with and how [did you] dealt with those?'”

“And how they made decisions at key transition points,” he added.

Musk explained that the very specific question ‘is usually enough’ to give him ‘a very good gut feeling about someone’.

It can also reveal whether or not he’s being lied to.

The SpaceX founder added: “What I’m really looking for is evidence of exceptional ability so that they’ve faced really difficult problems and overcome them.

“And of course, you want to make sure that if there was some significant accomplishment, were they really responsible or was somebody else more responsible.”

Musk said he looks for the person who’s ‘had to struggle with the problem, they really understand it, and they don’t forget’.

He explained: “So you can ask them very detailed questions about it and they’ll know the answer, whereas the person who was not truly responsible for that accomplishment will not know the details.”

This comes after Indeed also flagged it as one of the ‘eight common problem-solving questions’ you might be asked if facing a job interview soon.

The site notes: “If the job you’re applying for requires you to think analytically or solve problems, your interviewer may ask some problem-solving questions. These questions can vary between industries and jobs, but some examples come up frequently.

“Explain what challenges you have and what you did to overcome them. You can answer this question using the STAR technique.

“The STAR technique includes explaining the situation, the task, what action you took and the result.

“Choose an example that has a positive outcome and talk about what you learned from the experience, linking this back to the job description if possible.”

Elon Musk is no longer the world's richest person

The Tesla tycoon has now lost the bragging rights which come free when you’re crowned the richest person in the world

Elon Musk has been knocked off the top spot and is no longer the richest person in the world.

As well as the fact he has now lost the bragging rights to having the biggest bank balance on the planet, it’s also been a very rocky start to the year for the tech tycoon.

His car firm Tesla is Musk‘s brainchild – but it’s also been the source of a series of headaches for him.

Last month, a judge in Delaware ruled that his $55 billion pay packet from the innovative vehicle company – the biggest in corporate history – was an ‘unfathomable sum’ which was unfair to shareholders.

The court ordered that Musk must hand the money back, while the value of Tesla shares plummeted in recent weeks in wake of the case – which helps to explain how the CEO has lost some of his wealth as of late.

The businessman, 52, is now just one of the really, really, really rich people in the world, like Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates, rather than the richest.

Musk is reported to boast a net worth of around $198 billion, but this is a significant drop from his financial position in 2022, when he had a whopping $304.2 billion stacked away.

So, who has stormed to the number one spot in a blaze of glory?

None other than Jeff Bezos.

After Musk kept the seat warm for three years, the Amazon founder is now back on the throne as the richest person in the entire world, with a ridiculous net worth of $200 billion.

He came out on top of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index for the first time since 2021, surpassing the likes of Musk, Zuckerberg, Gates, Bernard ArnaultSteve Ballmer and Warren Buffett.

It’s a home away from home for Bezos as it’s a feat he first achieved back in 2017.

He’s sold a significant chunk of Amazon shares throughout February – to the tune of 25 million – which are the first that have been flogged since he stepped down as CEO to become the firm’s executive chairman.

The 60-year-old investor vowed to sell 50 million of the shares by 2025 through Morgan Stanley, a US brokerage firm, but he is still the web giant’s highest shareholder for now.

Reports claim Amazon’s market capitalisation is around $1.75 trillion after shares shot up by over 50 per cent since this time last year.

These days, Bezos is more concerned with his rocket company Blue Origin as well as his philanthropic projects, so stepping down as CEO was a necessary move – and by the looks of things, his business acumen really paid off.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the ten richest people in the world now are:

  • Jeff Bezos ($200b)
  • Elon Musk ($198b)
  • Bernard Arnault ($197b)
  • Mark Zuckerberg ($179b)
  • Bill Gates ($150b)
  • Steve Ballmer ($143b)
  • Warren Buffett ($133b)
  • Larry Ellison ($129b)
  • Larry Page ($122b)
  • Sergey Brin ($116b)

Trump will make expensive change to Air Force One if he wins the presidency

Trump will make expensive change to Air Force One if he wins the presidency

Billions has been spent on the two new planes to act as Air Force One

Donald Trump is ‘100 percent’ going to make a huge change to the president’s official plane, Air Force One, if he wins the 2024 election and sets foot back in the Oval Office.

The 2024 US presidential election will see Trump face off against Vice President Kamala Harris, who has spent the last four years alongside Joe Biden after he beat Trump back in 2020.

Voting is now underway in the 2024 race as the world holds its breath ahead of a final result, which could come overnight or days away, given how tight the polling has been. We simply don’t know who will win, with the two candidates tied in the polls and, more importantly, tied in the key swing states needed to secure the power of the presidency.

But if he wins, Trump is reportedly dead set on making one massive change to the vehicle used by the president of the United States (POTUS) to get around the world.

Air Force One is actually the code name for any United States Air Force aircraft carrying the POTUS through the skies.

There are two specially configured planes that the POTUS travels on, both of them being Boeing 747-200B planes.

They are effectively flying bunkers, complete with a conference and dining room, an executive suite for the president and their partner, six toilets, medical equipment, and accommodation for guests, Secret Service, security, and members of the press.

And while Biden has already ordered two new planes to serve as Air Force One at a whopping cost of $3.9 billion (£3 billion), Trump is looking to rip up the plans if he wins the election.

The new models have been ordered in the familiar duck egg blue, gold and white design that has existed since the 1960s after being first commissioned by former first lady, Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis.

Well, it looks like Trump will say goodbye to tradition if he wins, with the former The Apprentice presenter keen to bring back his plans to change the colours to red, white, and dark blue.

This is despite Biden scrapping this colour scheme due to it being potentially dangerous and expensive.

One former senior White House official, who remains close to the Trump campaign, told Politico that the former POTUS is ‘absolutely 100 percent’ set on the colour scheme, with Trump showing off models of his design during the final years of his first term.

The planes are set to be delivered to the US Air Force in 2026 and 2027.

The insider said: “The model was on the coffee table in the Oval Office and he pointed it out many times to foreign and domestic visitors.

“He thought it represented America more and represented strength, the red, white, and blue.”

Boeing said the colour scheme wanted by Trump would be a danger to the aircrafts and make high engine temperatures worse.

When asked for comment, Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung said: “Sounds like Joe Biden hates the Red, White, and Blue.”
