Police have launched an appeal to find twin sisters who vanished from Aberdeen city centre after being spotted on CCTV cameras at 2am on 7 January.
Twin sisters Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, both 32, have been reported missing from their home in Aberdeen, with camera footage taken at 2.12am on Tuesday morning showing them on Market Street at Victoria Bridge.
Footage showed they crossed the bridge and turned right onto a footpath next to the River Dee, and were heading in the direction of the Aberdeen Boat Club.
Both of the sisters are described as white with a slim build and long brown hair.

Chief Inspector Darren Bruce, Area Commander for Aberdeen City North, said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace Eliza and Henrietta and searches are being carried out in and around the area where they were last seen.”
As a well as appealing to members of the public to come forward with any information they’ve seen, the police also asked businesses in the area to look at their CCTV footage in the early hours of Tuesday to see if they can spot any sign of the twin sisters, and for drivers with dashcam footage from that time to get in touch.
CCTV footage is a major aspect of police efforts to piece together the whereabouts of the two women and build up a picture of their movements, but any and all support from the public and local businesses would be crucial in building out that picture.
In an appeal to businesses in the area which may have CCTV cameras of their own, Chief Inspector Bruce said: “Local officers, led by specialist search advisors are being assisted by resources including the police dogs and our marine unit.

“The Torry side of Victoria Bridge where they were last seen has many commercial and industrial units.
“Searches are ongoing here and we would urge businesses in and around the South Esplanade and Menzies Road area to please review their CCTV footage for early morning on Tuesday, 7 January, 2025 and contact us if it holds anything that may be relevant to our investigation. We also ask anyone with dashcam footage from that time to contact us.
“We are continuing to speak to people who know Eliza and Henrietta and we urge anyone who has seen them or who has any information regarding their whereabouts to please contact 101 quoting incident number 0735 of Tuesday, 7 January, 2025.”
A British woman was left blown away after the search for her long lost siblings led her to a series of unexpected conclusions.
Tracking down your biological family when you’re adopted can be a long and often harrowing task.
For Melanie Mackney, she had always known that her mother Maria had fled war-torn Yugoslavia in search of stability and soon found love with an Irish man after arriving in London in 1967.
However, the couple would find themselves in less than fortunate circumstances and were eventually forced to give up Melanie and her older twin sisters, Kathleen and Rosemary, who were born a year earlier in 1969.
After being granted access to her records as an adult, Melanie set about trying to track down her mother and sisters but the search has been unsuccessful – until now.
Melanie turned to ITV for help after being unable to track down her biological family. (ITV)
Unable to find her siblings by herself, Melanie reached out to Davina McCall’s ITV series Long Lost Family, where the team were finally able to make an astonishing breakthrough about her biological mother.
During the show, Melanie discovered that prior to arriving in London, her mother had taken refuge in Australia, where she’d married and given birth to two daughters named Helen and Mitza.
However, Maria – who was suspected to have been suffering from schizophrenia – later walked out on the family and was never heard from again.
After reaching out to Helen and Mitza, Melanie was able to talk to her sisters via a series of video calls and see a picture of her mother for the first time ever.
The trio would also learn that Maria had died at just 43 years old after a difficult life.
The trio’s attention then turned to tracking down twins Kathleen and Rosemary, however, tragedy would soon strike.

Melanie would later discover that Kathleen had passed away in a car accident in 2021 aged just 52.
However the revelations didn’t end there, with Melanie discovering that Kathleen had given birth to a son named Liam, who she was later able to meet in person.
Like Maria, Kathleen had also struggled with mental health issues – which saw Liam taken into care at the age of seven, however, he managed to maintain a positive relationship with his mother.
As for Melanie, she had never had any children of her own as hearing about her mother’s experiences with mental illness had always discouraged her.
“It’s quite obvious she was struggling and it put me off having children of my own in a way. I did want to have children, but I suppose in me, I thought ‘will I be the kind of mother Maria was’,” she explained during the episode.
After years of living with uncertainties about her origins, Melanie has since been working on getting to know her family further, later opting to celebrate her first ever Christmas with Rosemary, Helen, Mitza and Liam.
A desperate search is underway for two British hikers who failed to board their flight home from a trip to the Italian mountains.
Aziz Ziriat, 36, and Samuel Harris, 35, had been hiking in northern Italy, through the Dolomites, over new year.
The pair, from London, were last heard from on 1 January at 2.20pm when they sent messages to their loved ones from the Trentino region.
They were then due back home yesterday (6 January) but did not check into their return flight to the UK.
Their last known location is believed to be near a hut, not far from the town Tione Di Trento nearby Rival Del Garda on Lake Garda.

Italian authorities have said it is unusual for hikers to go missing at this time of year.
Alpine Rescue, Guardia di Finanza Rescue, Carabinieri and the local fire brigade are all involved in the search.
However, due to recent snowfall, rescue teams say they are having difficulty reaching the area.
Friends of Ziriat and Harris are flying out from London to the region this evening (7 January).
Appeals for information on the pair have also been shared to social media.
This includes a post by Crystal Palace Football Club, where Ziriat works.
“Crystal Palace urges supporters to share any information they might have to help locate Palace for Life Foundation staff member Aziz Ziriat, and his friend Sam Harris, who have been missing since 1st January whilst hiking in the Dolomites mountains in northeastern Italy,” the club wrote.
“The two were last heard from at 14:20 on Wednesday, 1st January, and they were believed to be near a hut called Casina Dosson – near the town Tione Di Trento, near Riva Del Garda, on Lake Garda. We are appealing for anyone familiar with the area, who can provide assistance or information, to get in touch. If you know the area and can help, please dial 999 and reference CAD 0197/07 Jan25.”
It also included descriptions of the men and the route they were potentially following.
Ziriat, described as being 6’3, attended the University of Brighton while Harris is 5’11 and was a student at Oxford Brookes.
Mustafa Suleyman, the chief executive of Microsoft’s AI division, posted on LinkedIn: “I urgently need your help! Two of my friends have gone missing whilst hiking in the Dolomites.
“We know they were near Casina Dosson Tione Di Trento, near Rival Del Garda, on Lake Garda.”
The dad of a teenager who went missing in London said she’d called him to say that her phone had been snatched before she disappeared.
19-year-old Lilyanne Hook called her parents from an unknown number on 11 November to tell them that her own phone had been stolen.
The teenager was last seen just after 10pm on 10 November leaving her Lewisham home, and the last time her family heard from her was on 15 November, when she called to say she was in Peckham, but they haven’t heard anything since then.
She had studied for a year at the University of Birmingham before moving to London.
Her dad Mark, who lives in Shrewsbury, told the Metro that his daughter had her mum’s mobile number memorised and would always call her to check in if she didn’t have her own phone on her.

Mark said that his daughter would check in regularly and never went more than a couple of days without speaking to her family.
He told the paper: “She’s a very outgoing and independent young lady, but the longest we have ever gone without speaking to her before was two days.
“We can’t think why she would not want any contact, but we just want to know she is okay.
“She rang us from an unknown number to let us know her phone had been snatched, and we’ve been worried ever since.”
He went on to tell The Independent he’d travelled down to London to try and find his daughter, saying the experience was a ‘living nightmare’ and that ‘someone, somewhere knows where my daughter is’.
“It’s her birthday on 21 December and I have to be with her then,” he said of his daughter, describing her as ‘the brightest, funniest girl I have ever met’.
Lilyanne’s dad said she called on 11 November to say her phone had been snatched, and again on 15 November to say she was in Peckham, but her family haven’t heard from her since then. (Metropolitan Police)
He explained that he’d spent the weekend putting up posters of Lilyanne around Peckham, and in a direct address to his daughter, said: “We all love you and please come home for Christmas.”
Lewisham Police have been making appeals on social media to find the 19-year-old and have encouraged anyone with information that might help to come forward.
They said: “Can you help us find 19-year-old Lilyanne who is missing from Lewisham?
“She is about 5 ft 1, of slim build, with long brown wavy hair and a nose piercing on both sides.”
Anyone who does have information which might help is encouraged to call the police on 101 and quote 01/1112099/24.
British tech tycoon Mike Lynch, dubbed the ‘British Bill Gates’, is among five others who are believed to be trapped inside a luxury yacht in Sicily.
The boat carrying 22 passengers and crew sank at around 5am local time on Monday (19 August).
CCTV footage below shows a clip of the Bayesian superyacht moments before it ‘vanished in 60 seconds’.
Mr Lynch, along with his daughter Hannah Lynch, Morgan Stanley International bank chairman Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judy Bloomer, Clifford Chance lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife Neda Morvillo have been named as missing.
The businessman who founded software company Autonomy in 1996 was cleared of conducting fraud to an $11 billion (£8.64 billion) sale to US firm Hewlett Packard.
According to reports, the vessel was around half-a-mile off the coast of Porticello when it sank.
Fifteen people onboard, including Mr Lynch’s wife, Angela Bacares, were rescued after escaping onto a lifeboat. The ship’s chef has been found dead.

Vincenzo Zagarola, of the Italian Coastguard, told PA news agency: “We think they are still inside the boat, that is our very hard idea.
“Our search and rescue activity by sea and air has gone on for around 36 hours.
“Of course, we do not exclude that they are not inside the boat, but we know the boat sank quickly.
“We suppose that the six people missing may not have had time to get out of the boat.”
On the chances of the six being alive, he added: “Never say never, but reasonably the answer should be not.”
Italy’s fire brigade Vigili del Fuoco has referred to the search operation as ‘complex’ with underwater divers taking 12-minute shifts.
In regards to the CCTV footage, Giornale di Sicilia explained: “In just sixty seconds – says the owner of the villa – you can see the ship disappear.
“Of about twenty cameras installed in the house, only one was not disturbed by the wind and rain. You can clearly see what is happening.

“There was nothing that could be done for the boat. It disappeared in a very short time.”
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) said: “We are in contact with the local authorities following an incident in Sicily, and stand ready to provide consular support to British nationals affected.”
A spokeswoman for Clifford Chance also said: “We are in shock and deeply saddened by this tragic incident.
“Our thoughts are with our partner, Christopher Morvillo, and his wife Neda who are among the missing.
“Our utmost priority is providing support to the family as well as our colleague Ayla Ronald, who together with her partner, thankfully survived the incident.
“Our thoughts extend to the other passengers and crew, and all those affected.
“We have no further comment at this time. We, and the families, ask that their request for privacy is honoured during this period.”
