This year’s Academy Awards delivered a wave of nostalgia, with fans thrilled to see Ghost co-stars Whoopi Goldberg and Demi Moore reunite on the red carpet.

It has been 35 years since the pair starred together in the iconic 1990 paranormal romance, so their interaction at the Oscars on Sunday (March 2) had many viewers buzzing.

But while their exchange appeared warm, a professional lip reader has now analyzed their conversation and revealed Goldberg’s blunt three-word response to Moore, 62, when she suggested taking a photo together.

\The reunion began when the Substance actress spotted the 69-year-old EGOT winner speaking to the press on the red carpet.

She interrupted her old co-star and called out “How are you?” – a moment that was clearly audible in the broadcast.

However, according to professional lip reader NJ Hickling, who analyzed the moment for The Mirror, Goldberg’s response was brief: “I’m fine.”

Moore then asked again, “How are you?” before the two exchanged a few more words. Then, as the Ghost stars continued their chat, Moore reportedly suggested: “Let’s get a photo.”

Hickling claims that the Sister Act actress initially responded by saying: “Together, I’d like to.” Moore then added, “Let’s stand back,” seemingly preparing for a picture. That’s when Goldberg allegedly delivered her three-word refusal: “I don’t pose.”

The mom-of-three, who was unfazed by her former co-star’s reply, simply rubbed her shoulders and said: “That’s okay.”

Fans were thrilled to see the two icons together again and took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate the moment.

“Ghost reunion! Our childhoods!” one person wrote while another gushed: “My hearrrrrrrrrrrrrrt is so full! Ghost was one of my first favorite movies growing up. Demi and Whoopi gave such dynamic performances on opposite sides. It’s still a masterclass.”

“Both have barely aged. I also wonder how any Gen Z folks know what this movie is/was,” a third added.

Others praised both actresses for “aging like fine wine” and were even hoping for a sequel, writing: “One of my favorite movies, we need a sequel.”

While the red carpet reunion was a highlight for many, the night didn’t end with a win for Moore as she lost her Best Actress award to Anora star Mikey Madison.

Despite the upset, the star’s presence at the Oscars – and her viral reunion with Goldberg – proved she’s still a Hollywood icon, with or without the trophy.
