The US President is cracking down on his immigration stance

Donald Trump is preparing to ban people from 43 countries from going to the US, with others being ‘sharply restricted’ access.

In another episode of US President Trump’s bid to crack down on immigration, he is tackling visitation to the country.

Having already deported a significant number of people already, including a 10-year-old girl who is recovering from brain cancer surgery, Trump’s next mission is to ban, restrict, and provide a 60-day threshold to address concerns to a large group of international nations.

The immigration proposals come after Trump confirmed on his social media platform, Truth Social, that he had a ‘good’ talk with Russian President, Vladimir Putin, which could see a peace deal created between the nation and Ukraine, after its three-year invasion.

This new decree sees key allies of Moscow placed under sanctions, as well as other conflict-ridden countries also placed on the list.

Along with those who have been banned or restricted, others have been told their governments have 60 days to address deficiencies or they will continue to be placed on the list.

With the countries listed in three separate groups, you can see below who is on which list.

The list of countries that could be banned in full:

All travel banned: Afghanistan, Bhutan, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen.

Visas sharply restricted: Belarus, Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Russia, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Turkmenistan.

Countries that have 60 days to address concerns: Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Dominica, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, São Tomé and Príncipe, Vanuatu, and Zimbabwe.

Many of the nations on the list are from the Middle East and Africa, and also those who are allied with Russia, such as North Korea and Belarus.

Those in the suspension group could find themselves unable to apply for tourist or student visas, as well as other visa statuses should they want to travel to the US.

Those in the partial suspension side will face similar issues should their governments ‘not make efforts to address deficiencies within 60 days’, as per the memo.

However, the list has yet to be approved by the administration, and it could change, as per the New York Times.

It was also reported that the majority of the countries are Muslim-majority, poor, and are considered corrupt.

The list is said to have been created weeks ago by the State Department and it has been reviewed by embassies and regional bureaus.

The US president went on to issue a warning last night when speaking to the Justice Department.

He said: “I think we have it, I think we have it, but this could lead to World War III, very easily, could very easily lead to World War III.

“But I think we’re in pretty good shape, a lot better than where we were before we got involved.

“That was heading into World War III territory, that would’ve been a war like no other because of nuclear weapons, and other types of weapons that you don’t even wanna know about.”

He said: “I think we’re doing well with Russia, we’re speaking with President Putin, we want to get the war over.”

Russia issues statement after Donald Trump pauses all US military aid to Ukraine

A Kremlin spokesperson has released a statement following the ‘main supplier of this war so far’ – the US – pausing military aid to Ukraine

A spokesperson for the Kremlin has released a statement responding to Donald Trump pausing all US military aid to Ukraine and his ‘desire to bring peace’.

Mere days after US President Donald Trump and Vice-President JD Vance berated Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office, the US revealed it would be pausing military aid to Ukraine.

On February 28, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy visited the White House in Washington DC but was met with a far from warm response.

Vance proceeded to accuse Zelenskyy of being disrespectful towards both the US and President Trump, and told him he ‘should be thanking the president’.

Trump then ended up butting in, telling Zelenskyy he’s ‘in no position to dictate’ how the US is ‘going to feel’ given he and Ukraine aren’t ‘in a very good position,’ accusing the president of ‘allow[ing]’ himself to ‘be in a very bad position’.

Trump warned: “You don’t have the cards right now. With us, you start having cards … You’re gambling with the lives of millions of people! You’re gambling with World War Three! You’re gambling with World War III. And what you’re doing is very disrespectful to the country – this country.”

Yesterday (March 3), a White House official revealed the US would be ‘pausing and reviewing [its] aid [to Ukraine] to ensure that it is contributing to a solution’.

“The president has been clear that he is focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well,” the statement added.

And Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has since responded to the US’ decision to pause military aid to Ukraine, stating, as quoted by Reuters: “If this is true, then this is a decision that can really encourage the Kyiv regime to (come to) the peace process.”

Since Russia invaded Ukraine three years ago, the US has provided the equivalent of $65.9 billion in military assistance to Ukraine, the State Department revealed in January earlier this year.

Peskov’s statement continues: “It is obvious that the United States has been the main supplier of this war so far. If the United States stops being (an arms supplier) or suspends these supplies, it will probably be the best contribution to the cause of peace.”

He resolved: “We hear his statement about his desire to bring peace to Ukraine, and this is welcome. We see certain things and receive certain information about the proposed actions in this direction. This is also welcome. But we will continue to see how the situation develops in reality.”

US President Donald Trump has issued an update regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin after talks were held to try and end the on-going war in Ukraine.

It was only on March 11 that Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged Ukraine’s allies not to let Putin ‘deceive’ them over the proposed 30-day ceasefire, and Trump subsequently threatened Putin with consequences.

The Ukrainian president announced the country is ready to ‘restore peace’ with Russia in a joint statement between the US and Ukraine three years after the country was illegally invaded.

US and Ukrainian officials spoke for eight hours in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where they agreed to an ‘immediate, interim 30-day ceasefire,’ which still required Russian approval.

Washington confirmed it would lift the pause on military aid and intelligence sharing with Kyiv and ‘will communicate to Russia that Russian reciprocity is the key to achieving peace.’

Zelenskyy added that the US needs to convince the Kremlin to agree before the ceasefire takes place.

Since then, Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov shared Russia’s thoughts on the matter.

“Nobody is talking to us,” claimed Lavrov. “They keep saying, ‘nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine,’ but they do everything about Russia without Russia.”

He also spoke about people’s ‘peacekeepers obsession’ and said they will not allow foreign troops on Ukrainian soil.

“The presence of the troops from NATO countries, under any flag, under any capacity, on Ukrainian soil is the same threat,” Lavrov said.

Confirming that Russia won’t accept such troops ‘under any conditions’, the foreign secretary went on to question: “Why should we give consent to the peacekeeping force?”

Prior to this, Trump went on to threaten Russia if they refused to work with America and Ukraine to restore peace, stating: “We could do things very bad for Russia. Would be devastating for Russia. But I don’t want to do that because I want to see peace.”

However, it appears that it’s all turning out quite positively after Trump’s envoy spoke with Putin about the proposed 30-day cease fire.

Taking to his social media platform, Truth Social, he wrote: “We had very good and productive discussions with President Vladimir Putin of Russia yesterday, and there is a very good chance that this horrible, bloody war can finally come to an end — BUT, AT THIS VERY MOMENT, THOUSANDS OF UKRAINIAN TROOPS ARE COMPLETELY SURROUNDED BY THE RUSSIAN MILITARY, AND IN A VERY BAD AND VULNERABLE POSITION.

“I have strongly requested to President Putin that their lives be spared. This would be a horrible massacre, one not seen since World War II. God bless them all!!!”

In response, many were happy with Trump’s involvement and took to the comments to praise his progress.

One person wrote: “Thank you Mr President. May God spare their lives.”

Another said: “WINNER.”

Someone else stated: “If there is anyone that can bring this bloody terrible war to an end, it is President Trump. He has one of the most skilled diplomatic teams working on this issue and if God is willing, they will find a way to stop this awful bad war.”

The POTUS urged Russia to take action after he warned Ukraine that it was ‘gambling with World War three’

Donald Trump has threatened to take action against Russia as he urged the country to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine ‘before it is too late’.

Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social to share his warning after his tense meeting with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy on February 28, when Trump insisted Zelenskyy was ‘gambling with World War three’.

Trump’s comments came shortly after the three-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and just days later the POTUS decided to halt all US aid to Ukraine.

In response, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that if the decision for the US to pause military aid was ‘true’, then it could ‘really encourage the Kyiv regime to (come to) the peace process’.

Trump then announced in his speech to Congress that he had indication from Putin that Russia is ready for peace, saying: “[We] have received strong signals that they are ready for peace. Wouldn’t that be beautiful?

“It’s time to stop this madness. It’s time to halt the killing. It’s time to end this senseless war. If you want to end wars, you have to talk to both sides.”

It’s only been three days since Trump claimed that Russia was ‘ready for peace’, but the president has now issued a warning against the country if it fails to act.

In his Truth Social post, Trump once again wielded the threat of tariffs – something he’s been talking about a lot lately after taking action against Mexico, Canada and China.

Trump has used tariffs, among other threats, to urge Russia to reach a deal with Ukraine.

He wrote: “Based on the fact that Russia is absolutely ‘pounding’ Ukraine on the battlefield right now, I am strongly considering large scale Banking Sanctions, Sanctions, and Tariffs on Russia until a Cease Fire and FINAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT ON PEACE IS REACHED.

“To Russia and Ukraine, get to the table right now, before it is too late. Thank you!!!”

Ukraine has made clear it is ready to ‘work fast to end the war’, with Zelenskyy suggesting ideas for the ‘first stages’ of peace in a post on Twitter after his meeting with Trump.

In the post, he wrote: “[The] first stages could be the release of prisoners and truce in the sky – ban on missiles, long-ranged drones, bombs on energy and other civilian infrastructure – and truce in the sea immediately, if Russia will do the same.”

“Nobody wants peace more than Ukrainians,” Zelenskyy added. “My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership to get a peace that lasts.”
