Fresh off his Golden Globes win, Colin Farrell provided a heartwarming response about what he was most proud of in his life.
The Irish actor, 48, picked up the 2025 Golden Globes award for Best Male Actor in a Limited or Anthology series for his role in The Penguin on Sunday (5 January).
The critically acclaimed series is set in the same world as 2022 film The Batman and focuses on the rise of Oz Cobb, AKA ‘The Penguin’, known as the notorious crime lord in Gotham City, played by Farrell.
After seeing off Richard Gadd, Kevin Kline, Cooper Koch, Ewan McGregor and Andrew Scott in the same category, the star looked to be in high spirits during his speech.
“No one to thank on this one. I did it all by myself,” he joked.
“Just a raw, paired away performance.”
Farrell then thanked makeup artist Michael Marino for designing his unrecognisable getup for The Penguin.
“All it took was three hours in the chair in the morning,” he added.

“I drank black coffee, listened to ’80s music, and I became a canvas for that team’s brilliance.
“I guess it’s prosthetics for here on out.”
However, backstage Farrell was a lot more reflective, paying tribute to his children James, 21, who suffers from Angelman syndrome, and youngest son Henry, 15.
Reflecting on his personal and professional life when asked what he was most proud of, he said: “I don’t know if I feel pride to be honest with you, which is not to say I’m not a prideful person. I do feel pride in my life.

“I feel very proud of my kids and who they are as men and watching them navigate the world.”
Farrell also said that he’s ‘very grateful that I get to work most of the time with people who I end up having real affection for and bringing these scripts to light. It’s just such a joy’.
“I think I did say that a long time ago, and I still believe, that either there is no arrival or you’re constantly arriving,” he went on.
“We are constantly arriving in the moments of our lives and some of them we would prefer over others. And the ones that oftentimes would be less preferable are the ones of course you learn the most from and experience the most growth from.

He recently revealed that he doesn’t join Zendaya – who was nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture for her role in Challengers – on red carpets as he doesn’t want to steal her shine.
“It’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us,” he told Men’s Health in a new interview.
Despite Holland’s efforts to ensure that his girlfriend-of-four-years is the one people are focused on, their relationship is back at the forefront of the conversation today.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Zendaya, 28, – who looked incredible in a burnt orange Louis Vuitton gown – was flaunting a new inking at the Golden Globes.
You’d need extraordinary eye sight to spot it a mile away, however, people caught sight of the tiny tattoo on her ribcage, while having a look at some snaps of her from the awards show.
And according to fans of the couple, it seems like the lower case ‘t’ which was poking out of her dress is a tribute to Holland.
As you can imagine, this sparked pandemonium among social media users – especially as the actress told Allure in 2019 that although she ‘loves’ tattoos, she ‘doesn’t want any’.
One person wrote in a post on X: “ZENDAYA GOT A TATTOO WHAAAAT!”
Another wrote: “If Zendaya has a ‘t’ tattoo, we can only assume Tom has a ‘z’ tattoo somewhere.”

While a third added: “If it’s Zendaya getting their initial tatted, yk it’s serious and they’re completely down bad for each other. Baby they’re LOCKED IN!”
Zendaya hasn’t confirmed or denied whether she changed her mind on body art, or whether the inking really is in dedication to The Impossible actor.
But, let’s be realistic – it probably is a sweet token of her love.
Adding even more fuel to the fire, the actress was also seen wearing a large diamond on her ‘ring finger’ – so the rumour mill really is doing overtime today.
However, some of her supporters reckon these details might be something of a red herring, as both Zendaya and Holland are notoriously private about their romance.
One person pointed out: “They’re very protective about their relationship, so would she actually wear the ring on the red carpet?”

Forget ‘eating right and drinking less’, if a 100-year-old tells me that eating a raw onion and having a tot of whiskey is actually the secret to old age, that’s what I’m going to be doing instead.

Unfortunately, on this occasion that isn’t what the world’s oldest man credits with his long life, and it’s a bit more metaphorical than that.
John Tinniswood, from Liverpool, turned 112 just today (26 August), meaning he was born in 1912.
The 112-year-old became the oldest man in the world in April, when the previous incumbent passed away.
John is a life-long Liverpool FC fan, meaning he not only has been watching them for longer than anyone else – but has been alive for 17 out of their 19 title wins, and all eight of their F.A. Cups.

He was born when the club was just two decades old.
In an interview with Guinness World Records, John said: “In all honesty, no different. I don’t feel that age, I don’t get excited over it. That’s probably why I’ve reached it.
“I just take it in my stride like anything else, why I’ve lived that long I have no idea at all.”
When asked whether there was a secret to his old age, John went on to give a short theory – before an absolutely incredible answer.
He first said: “I can’t think of any special secrets I have. I was quite active as a youngster, I did a lot of walking. Whether that had something to do with it, I don’t know.
“But to me, I’m no different [to anyone]. No different at all.”

After this, he went on to brilliantly reiterate that he thinks it’s a matter of chance not any specific lifestyle choice, saying it was ‘just luck’.
He’s a better man than me, if I live till 112 I will be far more obnoxious than his brilliantly humble answer.
He went on to bashfully say: “You either live long or you live short, and you can’t do much about it.”
When asked about his diet he said: “I eat what they give me and so does everybody else. I don’t have a special diet.”
Long and short, the world’s oldest man has given us all permission to live however we want, and maybe, just maybe, we might be lucky enough to reach his age.
Seeing as though all nine seasons are now available to stream on Netflix, there has never been a better time to discuss whether Meghan Markle would ever return to Suits.
The Duchess of Sussex, 42, departed from the hit legal drama at the end of season seven after her character got hitched to her on-screen partner Mike Ross, riding off into the sunset to start a new life with her husband in Seattle.
Her fictional nuptials with actor Patrick J. Adams aired less than a month before she actually tied the knot with Prince Harry in May 2018, and stepped away from the entertainment world to become a working Royal.
But now she no longer is one, Markle would be free to reprise her role as attorney Rachel Zane – and as filming is underway for a Los Angeles-based Suits spin-off, fans have been getting their hopes up.
NBC has reportedly ordered a pilot for the new series which will centre around a brand new character named Ted Black, who is a former federal prosecutor who moves his high-powered practice from New York to LA.
As the creator of the original series Aaron Korsh is returning to write the script, people are hoping that the OG stars will also make an appearance in Suits: LA too.

As Markle now resides in Montecito, California, with Harry and their children Archie and Lilibet, fans reckon that she might be enticed to return to the screen as Rachel Zane because she wouldn’t have to leave her family behind to film.
Her on-screen husband Adams also seemed to hint at the possibility they could both return to Suits while on the red carpet at the Golden Globes back in January.
The 42-year-old said of his co-star: “I think Meghan is a fantastic actress. We’d be lucky to have her back in the industry.
“Sure. Mike and Rachel in Seattle. They gotta come down to LA, they gotta fix some stuff.
“If we got the phone call, if I got the phone call, I’m ready to suit up again. I love the show, I love the character. And I loved working with all these people.”

But what does Markle think of the prospect of dusting off her acting skills to make a return to Suits?
Well, the last we have got to go off comes from her bombshell interview with Oprah in March 2021 alongside husband Harry, where she discussed whether she would like to get back in front of a camera again.
Markle said she had no plans to do so, but did add: “Never say never.”
Opening up about her role as Rachel Zane and subsequent departure, she said: “I left Suits right after the 100th episode, in 2018. I didn’t think I’d ever be in the entertainment industry again.
“But the entire culture has changed; streamers have changed things. The ability to create zeitgeist moments like we had in the ‘90s – where everyone would tune in at the same time for a show or gather for one moment – that doesn’t happen anymore.”

The mother-of-two then hinted that she could be swayed by rom-com style storylines though.
Markle added: “I miss them so much. I’ve probably watched When Harry Met Sally a million times. And all the Julia Roberts rom-coms. We need to see those again.”
Actor Wendell Pierce, who played the role of Rachel Zane’s father Robert in Suits, recently told how he had reunited with Markle last year and noted that her and Harry were ‘very much in love’.
Chatting at the 2024 Tony Awards in New York City on 16 June, the 60-year-old said working alongside the Duchess of Sussex was a ‘blast’ and that he has linked up with her a ‘few times’ since she left the acting world.
He added: “I’ve gotten to see her just a few times since, and we’ve been able to reminisce and so it’s real, we have fond memories of working together.”
Who knows – they could be making new memories to cherish together very soon too.
When asked what the most dangerous dog breed is, a canine expert gave what some people might think is a pretty surprising answer.
Let’s be honest, there’s been plenty of dangerous dog chat over the past year and a lot of us probably have our own preconceptions over certain breeds.
The beginning of 2024 saw the introduction of the XL Bully dog ban which made it illegal to breed, sell, advertise, abandon, re-home or allow an American XL bully dog to stray in the UK.
It comes after a number of brutal attacks took place last year, with a man recently charged over the death of a grandma.
However, this canine behaviourist believes there is a different answer to what makes the most dangerous dog.

Will Atherton shares dog training tips and advice on TikTok and in one video he explained he gets asked what breed is the ‘most dangerous’ all the time.
He explained he’s worked with ‘countless’ breeds of ‘countless different behaviours’ including ‘incredibly dangerous’.
“There might be a few different breeds I could give the answer to,” Atherton said.
“But the reality is that the most dangerous breed is the one that hasn’t been trained properly. It doesn’t have a loving leader in its life able to navigate and direct it through life safely.”
Yep, the expert added that ‘all dogs have the ability to bite’ and ‘to be dangerous’.

While the bigger and stronger the breed means the harm they can cause is ‘more significant’, Atherton reckons there’s no solid answer.
“The reality is, if you don’t train your dog properly, you very well could have a dangerous dog,” he added. “Whether it’s a chihuahua all the way up to an English mastiff.”
So, big or small, a dog can be dangerous.
And users commented to say: “Great video, I hate the misconception that some dogs are just inherently ‘bad dogs’ when it’s the owners who determine their behaviour as they grow up.”
Many echoed: “The most dangerous breed; HUMANS.”
Previous figures from Merseyside Police racked up a list of the five most dangerous dog breeds in the UK, based on the number of bites suffered.
Ranking in at fifth was the Rottweiler with German Shepherds taking fourth place. Pit Bull Terriers came in third, having been banned in the UK back in 1991. Staffordshire Bull Terriers are second and the breed listed as most dangerous, perhaps surprisingly, is the Jack Russell.
